I haven't been checking for some time now since it wouldn't let me relpy. I am beginning to wonder if there are some things that work in Explorer and not in firefox, which i usually use. Right now i'm in Explorer and it works fine. I have to remember that when i run into mysteries. All is well here. Its been a long hot, humid summer in IL and i'm glad its now heading towards fall. Our garden is doing ok , i had plenty of tomatoes to can what i needed and the peppers are now producing with enough to chop and freeze for the winter. I've even made a batch of pepper jelly. we have a few late things planted but we'll have to wait and see how they do.

We haven't gone anywhere, but to be honest we aren't very good vaction people. We have such different ideas of what to do that its just easier to stay home and avoid the hassles. We are going to try and go camping this fall, the one thing we can both agree on.

How has everyone been? take care...phyllis

    Hi Phyllis,
You may be on to something. My son in law says that Firefox is different than explorer. I think the techie types like Firefox alot.

I am good - finally went on vacation last week. We took my dad with us and he enjoyed himself. We did some work around the condo on Monday of the week and were then able to enjoy the beach the rest of the time.

I'm glad your garden did well. I love home grown tomatoes. We went up to Fred's cousins house a couple of weeks ago. He had a huge garden and generously shared tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers and zuchini with us. Yum Yum.

    Take care everyone

Good morning Phyllis, Mandy and everyone--Another very hot day in NY but the weekend is supposed to be beautiful with temperatures in the 70's. I'll be so happy with that! I think I've had enough of this hot summer with 90 and humidity.

Our oldest son from Florida is arriving today with his other half and her 2 boys so we'll have a fun weekend. We have our local Firemen's Fair in the evenings with a huge parade tonight at 7 o'clock. Not sure just what else we'll be doing but will plan on indoor activities for tomorrow since we're supposed to get a bit of hurricane Earl.

Hope everyone has a good Labor Day weekend!

Good morning, its turned nice and cool. This morning the animal shelter is walking in a parade. We'll be taking dogs and cats this time and with the cooler temps it will be pleasant for everyone. Lets hope someone sees a dog/cat they'd like to adopt. It doesn't usually happen, but ya never know who will be watching. Other than that no much else going on for the holiday weekend.

Next weekend we have another parade, this one here in havana and the theme is "sending out summer". I don't have any ideas on how we could decorate for that so if anyone has an idea that won't cost too much please send them my way.

I am so looking forward to cool weather cooking. I'm ready to start making more soups and doing some baking. I'm even looking forward to raking leaves and getting the yard ready for winter. this summer has been so hot and humid that I've let the yard work slide.

Have a good safe weekend. take care, phyllis

We an absolutely gorgeous day today. We went with our daughter and her family to a Scottish Festival in a beautiful section of the county next to ours. A lot of the different Scottish clans were represented. They had games, music and great food.

Tomorrow I need to clean the house and then hopefully go to see my dad in the late afternoon.

I hope everyone has a great labor day weekend.

    Take Care
