Hello and hope everyone is doing well! We are heading into the 70's/upper 80's for highs. We are down to 70 at night. Feels colder because of the difference from hot days we have had. We'll get used to this cool weather and it will feel hot for awhile again.....

I've been finding puzzles and spelling words to print out to bring to work. The staff likes coloring too!! I did bring some word puzzles for staff to work with. I think it helps us be alert and thinking.....so I didn't tell them I had the answers right away! We organized a "World of Nations" dinner at work. Staff made food from family recipes or from our family background. We made flags of the countries to put up and fed the individuals, staff and office staff.I made Swedish bread, my sis in laws lumpia and pancit from Phillipines. We had a good day-I and another staff set up and dished it out.

I had to get more tennis balls for the dog! Last one was rubber and he chewed it up!! He likes to fetch and is learning to lay down and stay. Have a good weekend and enjoy the cooler weather..(it'll be really cold too soon!) Linda

Hi Linda--This morning we were down to 55 degrees and it's supposed to stay cool for much of this week. I think we're also going to have showers on and off for about 3 days. Last Thursday and Friday we had heavy rain and wind--part of the remnants of tropical storm Nicole.

Sounds like you're finding all sorts of things for your residents. Your "World of Nations" dinner sounded very nice. I'm sure you had a nice selection of food to choose from.

My two dogs like the NylaBones and they're almost indestructible. I can't use any stuffed toys with either of them, especially the whippet. He can destuff one in about 5 minutes!

Have a good week!

Hi All,
It is really chilly here today. It has gone down into the 40's last night and I think it will be going down there tonigt.

Word games are really good for the mind. I need to play more of them. Pre computers I used to do a lot more with my mind - like read, etc.

We are discussing about moving our daughter and her family into our basement and having our son move into the townhouse that they live in now. I have such mixed feelings about it. I think it would be good for my grandson who is learning disabled and has seizures.. would allow him to basically be on one level and have a lot more spce to live in, but then there is the privacy issue. I have really been wrestling with this. Everyone is excited about making this happen except me. I guess we'll see how things go as the fall passes

I hope everyone has a great week.

Hi Linda,
We are still trying to get estimates - I think the plan is that they will move in once we get the basement finished. I'm still really leary. Just that nawing feeling if you know what I mean. But we'll see.

I just found Phyllis on facebook - I did something where you put in your email address and it somehow found friends based on the email addresses.

Pretty cool.

Have a great week.
