I hear much talk about Omega 3's helping with ADHD. Does anyone know the studies demonstrating improvement. And, if it is so effective why are there so many medications used instead? I have an 11 year old son who I am very reticent to put on medications until I've tried everything else. If Omega's are effective what dose is best?

If it was very effective for ADHD why do the rest of us have our kids on medication?

Because it was not that effective. However, my son takes stimulant medication as well as fish oil supplements.

Why don't you check with your son's doctor and try it first? If it is not effective there are other options. If it is, great!
