I just found out, although I've been suspicious for a while now, that my five year old has ADHD. She is getting bullied at school due to her misbehavior in class and is struggling to grasp even the basic concepts in school. I'm Bi-polar and have have anxiety and am stressed a lot from her. Any suggestions? Please help!

    Hi,

You don't mention if your daughter was put on meds?
Did a Child Psychiatrist do your daughter's evaluation?

The school needs to step up and offer your daughter some accommodations if school work is too difficult for her. What does the teacher / school say ?

A bit more info would be helpful - thanks!

You know what they say on airplanes: "Put on your own oxygen mask first."

Are you pursuing effective treatment for your bi-polar disorder? That will help you to cope with your child's challenges and also help you to guide her through the treatment process.

I've suspicious for a while that she had to be ADHD or something (she's so hyper 24/7). So I took her to a psychologist last week and she was diagnosed as being ADHD with severe anxiety. I have an appointment with a pediatrician next week that specializes in this. I'm hoping to get her on some type of meds, as she is only able to do 10% of her school work, is lowest in her class (she's in kindergarten), she's aggressive with her siblings and classmates. The list goes on.

    Any suggestions welcome

I just seen my psychiatrist last week and he adjusted my meds and I also talked to the psychologist that I took my daughter to for her ADHD diagnosis for parenting advice. I also see a psychologist as well.

Thank you so much for your concern <3

Also, they are having my daughter meet with the school psychologist weekly to work with her social skills and they have two specialist come in every day to help her, its in a group of 5-6 kids which can be distracting for her, but that's all they have.

Thank you so much for responding!
