Can't get diagnosed through the VA

Disco58 posted:
I am currently unemployed and thus have no health insurance. All of my medical care is provided by the VA. Unfortunately, they are unwilling to accept the possibility that my problem is ADHD (despite essentially verbatim exhibited symptoms), so unless and until I can afford outside medical care, there's little or no chance of anyone taking this seriously. The additional problem is that I am only seen once a month for issues they will accept, which accomplishes little if anything. I bought a couple self help books about eight months ago, but never got around to reading them (tomorrow, tomorrow, there's always tomorrow....), and now after losing my house and moving I can't begin to guess where they might be. But that's ok, because two minutes from now I'll be thinking about something completely different and forget about looking for them.
