The 'Molding' I am talking about is when your child seams to mold themselves into the people they associate around... My DD has moderate ADHD, thru the years , she seams to have molded to people and their lives..she was a pretty regular girl growing up, then she hung around (by other friends) with people who were gay - then she decided she was bi-sexual ,Then it was, she was definitely gay, now she's turning into a boy and wears a binder (never has liked her big chest). but she has also claimed she's schizophrenia after learning about it - - see that's the thing - she learns about and talks about things that she finds out about - from people she meets or the internet etc. then she all of the sudden "molds" this into her life. She also met a past girlfriend of mine a few years back and she 'cuts' ( I did not know this before ) well then my DD started doing this not long after - thank God we got that over with , but now all these other things. I have talked with her about it and she doesn't seam to think she 'molds' at all , I think obviously she just doesn't see it. I am having a hard time dealing with it all, all of the time - I mostly "try' to be supportive , and just nod my head and smile. She is almost 18 and hasn't been on any meds for years, (I don't think she will ever agree to take anything anymore) she claims she's now finding out who she is. I think not, but don't know how to act anymore ... HELP! does anyone else have these issues? or like them ?, and how do you handle them with out making them feel like their crazy?? How supportive should I be?
