citric acid intolerance

lmyres posted:
I am beginning to try and eliminate citric acid from my diet, after finding out I am intolerant. I wonder if any one has a list of safe foods, or tips about foods that you would never expect have citric acid. I am trying to avoid the acid, as I have terrible hives as a reaction to any exposure. Please help!

I did a quick search on the internet and came up with this site: http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~vclarke/citric_foods.html I'm not sure how reputable, but it's a starting point. Good luck.

Hi Tuscanlady-I would like to pass on a website that has a list of food additives that many people are allergic to and are NOT good to consume.

Please let me know what you have found out since posting...Thanks!

Have you found an organic bread that does NOT contain citric acid? I just looked at my Silver Hills Big 16 all organic bread and it DOES contain citric acid, very disappointing.
