I'm a 21 year old female with good health. Low blood pressure, average weight, etc. Nothing special. But I went into the E.R. a few weeks ago with sever stomach pain and they attempted to give me morphine through an I.V. A few seconds later my entire body felt like it was burning from the inside out. it was like my blood and my muscles were on fire and everything tightened and I lost my breath. My nurse attempted to pull some of the morphine back through the I.V. but I still had a receding pain for over an hour afterwards. Did I have an allergic reaction? And if so, I haven't been able to find any information on it online. The nurse was also not helpful... an anyone tell me if they've experienced the same thing or can tell me what happened??

Here is a link to the WebMD Drugs & Medication center. I put in "morphine" and it looks like there are many risk factors that can cause a reaction:

Morphine Uses, Side Effects, Precautions

If you are allergic, you might want to consider a medical alert bracelet or card to keep in your wallet!

I hope your stomach pain was resolved!
