Shellfish Allergy
wildhorsey11 posted:
So I was diagnosed with a shellfish allergy when I was 3 years old. Was told it was the iodine in it. I also had a small topical reaction when I was 8 years old that was easily reversed but my reactions are all anaphylactic. I am now 28 and I have been wanting to try lobster and shrimp and when I went online I found that the cod and halibut I have been eating have higher iodine content than the shellfish I have wanted to try. Is there an easy way for me to try the shellfish? Also, is there somewhere I can look to compare actual iodine contents. Thanks, Michelle
