New Carpet Delayed Allergic Reaction
scobridoe posted:
So... I recently had new carpet put in my basement. It's basically new construction as it was unfinished. Never been wet, so no mold. Whenever I'm down there for more than a couple hours I get asthma like congestion about 6-8 hours later. Is it normal to have such a delayed reaction to the exposure? Any help would be outstanding.

Hiya and welcome,

I am not a health care professional, but it could be the carpet and it could be the construction. Your best bet is to get to your doctor and share your symptoms and concerns.

New construction takes a long time for the dust to settle, and the fibers on the new carpet can stay with you and cause a reaction. Follow up with your doctor.
