Regional Allergies?

I have lived all over the united states and spent some time in overseas. I have never experienced allergies of any sort. I recently moved to a farming community in Oregon. Now that Spring is starting, I find myself sneezing more in a week then I have in the past 10 years. Is it possible that there's an allergen in my specific area? Or can you suddenly develop allergies?
