How I got rid of my hives
    Amanda3316 posted:
Hello, so I have been meaning to post about my story of chronic hives...I have almost been hive free for 7 months now. My story in hives started about 3 years ago. They came after a very stressful point in my life. I broke up with my boyfriend of 6 years. I was hives started as one here and there, I didn't give it much thought. Then they progressed over time. It was very painful and embarrassing. I had many visits to the ER and went to about every specialist and thought for a long time it was an allergy. I used to search the web trying to find some answers, read blogs of similar stories, but there were no answers. EXCEPT for one story... A girl said she went on an anti-anxiety medication and that cleared it up. Well, I knew that I had been fighting anxiety and depression from the break up for a long time. Plus, Anxiety and depression run in my family. I became a yoga instructor, I went holistic in almost every way, and that helped a little. Finally I came to a breaking point where I realized I couldn't live my life like this. The hives had taken over my life! So, I decided to visit my family med. doctor and I asked to go on the same anti-anxiety med that my dad takes. It's called Celexa. It took about 3 months for me to really see the results. I am hive free 99% of the time. I only have one or two tiny not even itchy ones around my menstruation period. Definitely manageable compared to the hell I went through before. Plus, my stress is managed and I can honestly say that I am much happier on this medication. I came to a point in my life where yoga, meditation...didn't even break the surface of my stress. I no longer had to wake up with swollen eyes or embarrassing marks, itch etc. I hope this helps someone as it has helped me so much.
