Treating eczema flare-ups
spottyone posted:
Hi. I have found out that we all carry Staphylococcus bacteria on our skin, and they can trigger sudden unexplained flare-ups of eczema (from an "endotoxin" they produce). Although steroid creams helped initially, the eczema only cleared when my MD used a mixture of steroid and antibiotic cream such as fucidic acid or mupirocin. This mixture caused the eczema cleared very quickly. It does still flare up from time to time, but is now much easier to control using this mixture.
