conflicting and confusing information.....

So me and DH really want to try for a girl this time....most of the stuff I'm reading is saying to try a couple of days before ovulation and it will be a girl. But I saw some other things that contradict that and say try the day after ovulation. So you could see where I am confused. I am starting to learn towards the day after because I am sure that I conceived my last two boys when I was ovulating. I am also pretty sure that I conceived my daughter on either the last day of my window or the day after.(not really sure about the exact ovulation dates I honestly just estimated 10-14 days since my last period) So I guess I need to ask the ladies on here who have girls and can remember how was she conceived? Not really the details lol but did you conceive before ovulation, after or during ovulation?

Also I am having cramps, kinda mild but nonetheless cramps, it is day 11 of my cycle, could that mean that I am ovulating now? I would think it would be too early since I just stopped my period on Monday and it is still my first cycle off of my pills. DH was even surprised that I have cramps he was like," You just had your period" I don't know what to think anymore.....hmmph

From what I've read, boy sperm are faster, but girl sperm last longer. With that, I've heard for better chances of a girl, have sex a few days before ovulation. The theory is the boy sperm will have given up/died, while girl sperm are still hanging around waiting on an egg to fertilize.

that's what I've been reading too but then I see some other stuff that says something about 12 hours right after ovulation...anyway its confusing, but do you remember how your little boy was conceived Wanda? was it before, after or during or was he just a surprise?

I always thought it was the guys genetic makeup that determined the gender, well atleast thats what the audience on Montell always used to yell at the husbands on stage who would tell their preg wives if they didnt deliver a boy they were divorcing them....ok, now that I think about it, not the most credible source for information....LOL

It is up to the male. Females have X chromosomes, and it's up to the man to deliver an X chrom or a Y chrom. XX chromosomes are girls, XY chromosomes are boys. Ladies really have no choice in the matter. We just hope the egg drops and someone, anyone of those sperms come fertilize it (that is if you want to get pregnant).

I'm a geek and for some reason reproductive biology really interests me 8-D

Oh, and I have Montell Williams as a friend on facebook and I confessed my undying love and attraction to him since I was 11 to him. Don't judge me!

yeah I know all about that....had to take Anatomy in school for medical assisting.....I know its up to the male but with DH's track record we will be making boy #4 I will be really surprised if we ended up with a girl. We have 2 boys together and he is a father to adult children one boy and one girl. He also comes from a family of 4 boys but when his dad married a new wife she had a daughter so go figure ....and on his mom's side there are only girls so who knows

Wanda is my home slice. LOL She once said to something negative, "that does not make for a tasty Wanda cocktail" and I just about peed myself.

She is busy with life right now and is not able to get on as much

: (

I miss her
