Another thing to consider...

IslandL posted:
Since anyone who wanted to join would have to provide an email address, that might deter some just out to cause trouble. Unless ofcourse, they created a "throw-away" address just for that purpose.

By the same token, some people might not want to join because they wouldn't want "strangers" to have their email addy.

All this seems more complicated the more the details are considered. :)0

Yes, me too. And part of me keeps "waiting for the other shoe to drop", d flying back in for yet another harangue.

What do you want to do?

_sigh_ I don't know, this setting up private seems like a PITA and I guess someone already created it anyway and named it chat stew? I am not going to give some random stranger my email address at work- you I would, and a few others I would but not someone I don't know

I agree. Someone who was afraid she wouldn't be invited to the new forum so took matters into her own hands. My first thought was 1187. Could be Ilovecookie though, who was so against posting under that name.

I don't know why exactly, but this really irks me.

I wouldn't even try to post over there, they may mean well but since you don't recognize the name and they aren't quick to tell you who they are then they aren't worth talking to JMHO.

I agree and Do I look at this as someone honestly trying to be nice? or someone up to no good?

IslandL replied to BabyLovesPrada's response:
Some quick to steal someone else's idea anyway. That alone says something.

You can't really tell either way. I may seem like an open book and I don't mind getting to know new people but its because really I don't have anyone to talk to at home . I only talk to people on FB and don't have many adult friends to talk to, so I enjoy this kind of thing. DH is always working and by the time he gets home he doesn't want to hear my bombarding him with every little quip and things that irk me KWIM? and I am not that close to my family as you have learned in previous posts So I am thankful to have "friends" like you to just listen if I need to "talk" lol
