Anxiety is actually part of life, but sometimes it does spike because of things that are happening in our lives. This often happens when there is a great deal of stress from a variety of things including relationships, finances, schooling or even health difficulties.
Take a look at what has been happening in your life over the past several months because you indicated that you have been having anxiety for at least 3 weeks now. Anxiety can be the result of stress and stress builds up over time, so it could be from something that has happened recently or which has been going on for some time. You may be able to put your finger on what is causing this and then you will be able to make appropriate changes so that you can decrease this stress.
I don't believe that this is a situation that cannot be resolved. The 1st thing that you should also do is to have a medical checkup because there are certain medical problems which can lead to excessive anxiety. If everything turns out fine with the medical checkup, then the next step is for you to look at the stressors in your life.
I believe in taking conservative measures and for that reason I would recommend that you look in our Tips column. View the relaxation breathing video tutorial we have there and begin to use that technique every day, several times a day. If there is no medical reason for you not to exercise, then there are simple exercises that you can do. I know that most people think that exercise is just to keep themselves in shape. Current research has pointed to exercise as being one of the best ways to handle stress, anxiety and depression. You can do this without any equipment or any gym memberships. In fact, all you need to do is to begin walking and you can do this in your kitchen or walking up and down stairs or go for simple walks outside your house. Just do it on a regular basis.
I hope you find this information helpful and that this does resolve soon.
