I have a small question, Can prednisone 50mg taken as directed cause nightmares and panic attack upon awakening. I just finished my last dose in preparation to prevent allergic reaction ti intravenous contrast dye and it seemed like it happened frequently. Thank you.

I'm not an MD, but prednisone at that dose can certainly cause problems. We know that even at lower doses it can cause mood swings, anxiety, depression and even mild psychosis.

Thank you so much! I had to take that much Prednisone to prevent an allergic reaction from happening. I even tapered the dose down.
