    Exciting News for WebMD Members!

We've been busy behind the scenes building new message boards for you. You'll have new and easier ways to find messages, connect with others, and share your stories.

And, this will all be available on your smartphone or other mobile device!

What Do You Need to Do?

The message board you're used to will be closing in the coming weeks. While many of your boards will be making the move to our new home, your posts will not. Want to keep a discussion going? Save posts you want to continue (this includes your member profile story), so that you can re-post them in the new message boards.

Keep an eye here and on your email inbox, we'll be back in touch soon to give you all the information you need!

    Yours in health,

    Xanax and Melatonin
    Ilovesunflowers posted:
I have been taking Xanax (alprazolam) for 10 years now. Is it possible to switch to Melatonin?
    Patricia Farrell, PhD responded:
I'm not an MD, but there is no comparison between the two and I don't believe you could switch and get any type of favorable result.

Please discuss this with whoever is prescribing your Xanax.
Ilovesunflowers replied to Patricia Farrell, PhD's response:
Ok, thank you for your response.
Patricia Farrell, PhD replied to Ilovesunflowers's response:
Just remember that whatever you decide, you should be guided by someone with a solid level of experience and be sure to ask lots of questions.
Ilovesunflowers replied to Patricia Farrell, PhD's response:
I just want off of Xanax so bad. I'm scared of the side effects I'm experiencing and the side effects from getting off.
