Dysphagia and Anxiety

I have anxiety and lately dysphagia. I did a barium swallow with speech and they said I have mild dysphagia with pharyngeal residue with both solids and liquids. I have had constant upper epigastric pain for the last years with just recently acid reflux. I have had various work ups and no findings. Just wondering if it is possible to have dysphagia caused by anxiety???

Patricia Farrell, PhD responded:
I'm not an MD, but there is a possibility that dysphagia could be related to anxiety and you might want to have an evaluation with a licensed psychologist.
