Hi Everyone,
If anyone has a similar experience to mine please post a reply.
Me 3 months ago:
27 yr old white male
thin
not much exercise
poor diet ( fatty foods, carbs )
Stressful Job
Drinks alcohol a lot probably 3-4 nights of the week, and usually gets very drunk.
3 Months ago I was prescribed Vyvanse for ADAH and started to get a tightness in my chest the soon after I took it. I got my first panic attack in my life while I was at work, ( a week after I was prescribed to the vyvanse). Numb hands + feet, short of breath, racing heart ( scared me so much I thought I was having a heart attack and went to the ER.)
They did a chest x ray EKG Blood work everything. They said was not having a heart attack. The chest tightness/pain stayed with me and scared me to death for 2 days until I called my doctor. He did another EKG took me off vyvanse, scheduled a stress test, put me on ativan and zoloft. The chest tightness remained. I continued to drink because I had so much anxiety about it. Alcohol seemed to be the only thing helping me and allowing me to sleep. After this panic attack I changed my diet, and started to exercise more. However continued drinking.
A couple weeks pass I do the stress test. They ask me if I have ever done any narcotics. I said yes cocaine. So they schedule me for a nuclear stress test and an electrocardiograph to rule out any possibility of heart disease. A week or two pass with continued chest tightness and I do the tests. All results come back normal. The doctors tell me I have a healthy heart.
Fast forward a month I have changed my diet cut way back on alcohol, increased exercise, still on zoloft and ativan. AND I STILL HAVE CHEST TIGHTNESS!!!!!!! and the occasional panic attack that brings me into the doctors or the ER.
Also I have started acupuncture and yoga to further my health and well being. But still to this day alcohol is the only thing that helps the most.
Does anyone know what is wrong with me. My doctor doesnt know, my cardiologist doesnt know, and to make matters worse I have bought a stethoscope so I can listen to my heart when I have one of these "sensations radiating from my chest"
Thank You for reading because I am at a loss.
