hi guys im new at this site...been having anxiety and panic attack for sometime now...meds dont work for me...now i want to try hypnotherapy..is anyone familiar with the outcome

Hey, Mariey and welcome.Hypnotherapy can be a useful tool to use in treatment for a variety of anxiety disorders, including panic attacks. I recommend that you first look for someone who has a specialty in treating anxiety and panic and then find out if they use hypnotherapy as part of their treatment. I like that approach over seeing a specialist in hypnotherapy who treats all disorders.

thank you for your reply.... do you think hypnotherapy will be better or cbt...im a little confused as to which one to try...

my anxiety is so much that i practically scared of everything...i cant even get a goodnight sleep... also i feel tired all the time, do you think this tiredness is due to depression or anxiety?

Speaking only about your tiredness question, if your body and mind is on high alert all the time from anxiety, that would result in a lot of fatique. I know it has for me when I've felt like that, I just worry all the time and my mind doesn't really get any rest. Depression causes fatigue as well, so your tiredness could have both causes.

Hi Mariey, I suffer from constant anxiety and panic attacks and have taken depression medication for the last 10 years. I had my first hypnotherapy session last week, desperate to try and get my life back. The anxiety hasn't disappeared but it has backed off a little and the task she gave me to do before sleep every night is certainly helping me to sleep better. I have another session this week and I would recommend anything that may alleviate anxiety, as it is life controlling. When I do have a bad night and wake up tired I feel more anxious, so I do believe tiredness can make you more anxious. CBT didn't work for me, but I'm really having faith that hypnotherapy will. Good luck whichever way you choose. Nothing to lose, except the exorbidant fees they can charge.

hi i jusy tried 2 sessins in hypnotherapy ---i dont see any change much with my anxiety--let me see if it will help in the later stage ...thanks for the reply

I tryed hypnothrapy for my anxiety and it didn't help. In fact I got more anxiety because I felt hopless.
