I am in need of a therapist to treat severe health anxiety in the central Texas area. Looking for Killeen/temple area. I am told they need to be CBT certified. Thanks.

You might contact the Anxiety Disorders Association of America. They have lists of therapists and psychiatrists. totally avoid psychoanalysts. Cognitive/behavioral therapists are best for this type of problem. Ask therapists about their approach. Some will say they're 'eclectic' which means they do every type of therapy. But for anxiety, seek out a cognitive/behavioral therapist. And watch out for 'sick therapists' - there are some really bad ones out there. And if you start the therapy and just don't feel comfortable with the person, find someone else right away.
