Panic Attacks after surgery
daisy1daisy posted:
My 7 year old had a minor surgery and 3 days later we ended up in the ER with trouble breathing. We were treated for Pnumonia but now think that was not it at all. Lung x-rays showed nothing and blood work was good. Anyway we are 5 weeks after surgery and have been experiencing all the signs of panic attacks and something almost every day. I am scared for my child!! It is so hard to watch her go through this and the things she says while trying to describe what she is feeling is horrible to here. How can I help her and will it stop soon.

daisy1daisy - How is your 7 year old doing? My 11 year old just had surgery 4 weeks ago and now is starting with the breathing trouble, went to er by ambulance and they could not really find anything wrong, she didn't want to leave the hospital after her surgery and then again when she went in for her breathing. Her pulse ox was a little low but still above 90. She also complains of weakness in her legs and stomach pains. We are going to the peditrician today to follow up, but I feel this is a type of panic attack she is having, but don't want to disregard if it's not.
