For some reason, ladies, I am having the hardest time. I don't know if it is just the baby blues or if I am just so tired....but I cry like 4 times a day. I am sure this is normal but I am not a crying type of a person. It is really hard for me. I have no other syptoms of PPD so I don't think it is that....maybe just the hormones. Did/does anyone else have/had this?

This is even when I am in public.....embarassing!

I forgot to say......I did have a m/c right before this pregnancy so I had a difficult time really enjoying the pregnancy. And...I tend to be most emotional when I think about how much my Doc did for me and because I was high risk-how much attention he gave my pregnancy because of my fears.....

Hey Carrie. First off, (((((HUGS))), and you are so normal!!!!! Right now, your hormones are ALL over the place. Once you have a baby your hormones pretty much "bottom out" and can bring you to a super low. It's like your body has to "reboot" itself.

I suffered w/PPD w/DS and the difference between that time and when I had DD was that the emotional rollercoster only lasted a couple of weeks w/DD and went on for months w/DS. Def. call your OB and let them know what is going on. Sometimes just being able to talk about it w/someone helps. I'm here also!!!

(((Hugs))))) Nicki.

I also had a m/c before I got pg w/this LO. I agree that it def. makes it harder to enjoy the pg. Being a mother is a super scary experience. Seriously, nobody tells you just how scary it is. Honest story, about a week after coming home w/DS (he was in his basinett in the living room), DH was sleeping on the couch, and I was on the love seat calling my Mom, crying, begging her to COME GET ME. I was just so overwhelmed at the time, but I can say we laugh about it now.

Just know that all your fears are natural, HOWEVER, I still want you to call your OB tomorrow and let him know!!!

I had the same reaction after my DD1 was born!! I cried over EVERYTHING!! I think that is really normal in the beginning as hormones are insane. I had a similar experience this time, but it only lasted a week. The first time it was close to 3 weeks, but got steadily better. PPD as a similar start (from what I understand) but stays the same or gets worse. My dr told me that it is hard to diagnose PPD in the first month, because the of the hormones regulating. If you are worried, call your dr!! That's what they are there for!!

I did call...I am going in on Thursday for an incision check and he said he will talk to me then. He said it is completely normal but since I am concerned, we will discuss it more in depth then. I still cry quite a few times during the day but it seems to be getting more managable. I just hope it evens out soon cause I hate feeling this way. Thanks ladies for all your replies and support! I am so glad this is turning into a babies board and not just disappearing. I will let everyone know what the Dr. says on Thursday!

Hey Carrie. I've been thinking about you and glad you are going to talk w/your doc. When I had DS 11 yrs ago, no one talked about PPD and I kept thinking what is wrong w/me. We had tried for 14 mos. to have DS (which then seemed like forever..I laugh now) and I couldn't believe that I wasn't just super happy. I wish that I would have talked w/my doc about it. It lasted for about 6 mos. and then one morning I woke up and I swear it was gone. I just felt like I didn't enjoy that time like I should have.

W/DD the doc knew about my possible PPD and really talked w/DH and I about what signs to look for and to call his office immedietly. Like Meggie said, it lasted a couple of weeks and then went away, so (PRAISE THE LORD) normal hormonal stuff, but I say don't take chances.

Def. let me know how things go at your appt!!! Hugs girlie!!!

Just an update......Doc thinks I am heading towards PPD...so he wants me to come in weekly to check on me! So yeah...I bawled in the office and felt so stupid! So I go next week again and if I am not better he will start me on meds. I have a family history of PPD so he doesn't want it all to get to bad. He even asked my DH about me and my normal self. SO I think meds are in my future. As long as it helps, I am game!!!!!

I'm glad you decided to go in. PPD is not something to play with. I'm sure that in time and with meds, you will be back to yourself again. Best of luck.
