Let me know what you think... today I have had some crampy feelings and some backache... almost like my menstrual cycle is going to arrive... Could this be a sign of early labor??? Sometimes I am just crampy and then of course sometimes it's with tightening. Remember i'm new at this lol! Thanks for your input!

Yeah I wondered this too. I've had more episodes of feeling crampy and the cramps are worsening in severity. And yesterday my back hurt mildly for a short while, which is the first time that's happened. Now I am getting little pelvic twinges. I personally don't think labor is eminent for me but we shall see. I'm only 36w6d.

I WILL tell you my doula gave me a handout and it said ~

POSSIBLE SIGNS OF LABOR = 1) losing mucus plug/bloody show (although she said FTMs often think they've lost it only to discover later that they hadn't) She said if you truly lose it you will often go into labor 2-3 days later, 1 week max. 2) worsening BHCs

PROBABLE SIGNS OF LABOR = 1) water breaking 2) contractions that get closer together and stronger and longer

It is possible. I have heard that the back ache with cramps is a sign of things starting. However, if you have been overdoing it at all or what not that could also be. Also, if you have had any issues with constipation you may get some cramps and a backache.

I would say if it continues and gets worse or consistent, it does not hurt to put in a call.

Keep us posted and let us know what happens!

Well I called L&D after someone on the third trimester board said her doctor said menstrual cramping wasn't normal (strange i thought). I spoke with a triage nurse and she said cramping is going to be normal as the body is getting prepared... basically things are just going to get more painful lol! I am nervous but excited all at the same time... my sister in law was dialated at a 3 and some change for weeks... and was in labor that wouldn't really progress for weeks... she was in so much pain and the doctors wouldn't do anything for her but let her progress on her own. At 41 weeks and 2 days they finally induced her. After 36 hours of labor and 3 hours of pushing she had a c-section... I'm really hoping for a much easier time than that!!!!
