Sorry I haven't posted or commented in such a while...I had to take a break because I was UBER hormonal and cried over EVERYTHING!

Congrats to everyone who has been through L&D!!! Nicki, I saw your blog and your pics and little Madi is PRECIOUS!!!!

Alexander Penn was born on Tuesday at 2:04PM via scheduled c/s. He weighed 8lbs, 5oz and was 20.5in long. We got home yesterday and our family couldn't be any happier! DD is playing the role of "big sister" FABULOUSLY!!!
I did NOT get an epi this time, but a spinal...and OMGoodness!!!!! I experienced some LOW LOW bp issues so my c/s was delayed a little because I had to have so many doses of something to bring my bp back up...the poor anes. intern that was there was so concerned! She sat behind me the whole time (before they let DH come in), rubbing my head saying over and over, "I sure wish she'd get some color in her face..." After my BP came back up and they let DH come in, the doc got busy...The curtain was lower this time, so DH saw a little more than he had hoped. LOL! I couldn't feel a THING - no pressure or ANYTHING! I finally called out to the doc if he was earning his big bucks and he laughed and said, "Well, what do YOU think???" and I'm looking at the ceiling and DH says, "Rhonda, LOOK! It's your son!!!!!!" I guess he really WAS working...LOL!!!!! Apgar score was 9/9 and he was able to come to recovery with me to try to nurse.
BF'ing went great until Alex's circumcision and after that trauma (LOL) he forgot how to latch...when pumping, all I could get out of my left breast was bright red blood because of a place he left, so I've given that up - it hurt WAY too bad to pump!
I lost a LOT of blood during surgery which didn't help the bp issues, but we're keeping an eye on everything. My doc is FAB and so are his colleagues who made rounds due to him leaving for vacation in Italy. He left my staples in, thankfully, since my incision ripped open last time. I go Wednesday to have them removed...
With DD, I didn't FEEL anything after surgery except the pressure from the gas...That is CERTAINLY not the case this time, but OMG this kid is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO worth it!!!!!!!!

I can't believe how INCREDIBLY blessed our little family is!!!!!! I know some of you are incredibly uncomfortable, but trust that God is in control...Good luck to those of you who are awaiting your LO and good luck to those of you who have recently come home with your LO!!!

Hugs all around!
Rhonda (28)
