Irritability... :-(

It seems like as the days pass and we get closer and closer to our due date I can't help but get irritable toward just about everything. Little things, big things, it doesn't matter. Something as simple as doing the dishes sets me off. It's completely stupid, yet completely real. I don't why but it's getting worse. I feel bad about it, because I'm snapping at people I love, but I can't control it. I am prone to depression and I'm so afraid of postpartum depression since I'm more at risk for getting it.

Is this something I can talk to my midwife about or is it more of a therapy thing? I need help...

Thanks for reading! -Nikki

I think it's natural to feel irritable at this point. We are almost at the end and we aren't feeling like ourselves... between the physical changes to our bodies and all the hormones, it's completely understandable!

I don't see why you couldn't ask your midwife for advice... that's what she is there for - to help you throughout your pregnancy. And I would voice your concerns about postpartum depression. The fact that you want to talk about it and you are aware is so great. I bet she will help you out, or at least point you in the right direction.
