Sorry that this has taken so long! Alesia Julia Lee was born at 4:28 am on 8/13/10. I had been having some discharge through out the day on Thursday, but not really any contractions to speak of. I went to bed about 10:30,I was sore but still not any contractions. I was woke up at midnight by contractions, so I called the hospital- told them that on Wednesday when I was checked I was dialated to a four, told them about the discharge and told them the contractions were about 5 minutes apart or so I thought. So they told me to head on over since it takes about an hour to get there. So I called my ride and said its time. She got to my house by about 12:30, by then my contractions had sped up to about 2-3 minutes apart. We got in the car and headed out and my water broke at 12:48- then the contractions were 1-2 minutes apart! I really didnt think I was gonna make it to the hospital!!! I got to the hospital at 1:30- they were ready for me so I went right to my birthing room. They hooked me up to monitors and checked me and I was already 8 1/2 and I was having more bleeding than the nurses thought was normal. They called the dr, and the anasthesiologist. I got a partial epideral at about 2:30 and life was great It did slow down the contrations though. I was fully dialated at about 3:30-3:45 and started pushing. I could still feel the contrations so I would tell the dr when I thought I should be pushing. She was born a short 40 minutes later! Afterwards the dr was a little concerned about my bleeding but I wasnt paying attention- I was holding my beautiful baby!!! When I delivered the placenta they found that it had ruptured in spots and it took them awhile to stop the bleeding. But everything turned out fine! Later my dr came in and told me about the worries that she had, I had lost half my blood!!! They monitored us for the next two days. Luckily I didt need a transfusion and Alesia's jaundice was at tolerable levels, so they let us go home on Sunday afternoon, but I had to go back yesterday to get her levels checked and again today. So far her levels are great and she hasnt had to go under the lights, and she has started eating really good and hasnt lost anymore weight since the first day!!!
