Only being 18yrs old I feel like the only one my age who actually went through with having no pain medication while giving birth.
I didnt want to take any chances with having an epidural because I have a curve in my lower back and also the fact you could get sick or not have it work at all.
I told my nurses that that is my plan and they kind of just looked at me like I wasnt going to beable to do it because I had back labor and my son was "Sunny Side Up".
I went to the hopital around 9:30pm on Aug.24 6cm dilted easy 7cm and fully effaced, felt like forever in labor, I wasnt stuck on the monitors because I refused to sit in the bed. About 12am Aug 25 I had to get in the bed to be checked and I was 9cm easy 10cm, my water hadnt broke so I said breack it and this baby will be here. Half an hour passed and I was pushing, my son was born at 1:25am on Aug. 25 with no medication.
Later that morning before the nurses had to switch shifts they came in and said they couldnt believe I did it Natural because most of the time when a women comes in saying shes going to do it Natural, they get to a point and want medication. Nurses in hospitals now adays dont get to see to many Natual labor and delieveries because of the pain medication that you can get. Im proud to be one of those moms that let my nurses witness one.

Congrats, I was induced with my little girl and went 23 hours without pain meds before I asked for an epidural, however my daughter was breech so it ended in a c-section...The nurses didn't help much cause they kept telling me that if i had dilated pas a 1 or 2 I would have been screaming. I think they have very little confidence that some women are just strong enough to handle the pain or don't feel it as much as others.

I did however use as little medication as I could stand after the c-section, after the first day I was on moltrin.

Well sorry to hear it ended in a c-section, thats not something any mother wants to end up in. I do believe it is all on how you can handle pain. Yeah I think some nurses dont have that much confidence in some women.
