  1. I have IF issues and after seven years of trying for DD, I knew that I wanted to start immed. to have another. However, because of my diabetes we couldn't start until after she was a year. After 9 cycles and Clomid we concevied LO. Praise the Lord!!!
  2. Totally wrong, I was convinced I was having a boy. I even bought a blue double stroller. We were thrilled (after the tech let it slip) that we are having a girl!!!
  3. I have bought all the furniture and the printed art that we are basing the nursery around (I changed themes after find out we are having a girl). It is FAB, can't wait to share it with you girls. Just waiting for DH to paint the room to get started!!
  4. Actually the furniture because we got such a good deal. I really hate buying things too early.
  5. UGH...this is really hard for me. Even with the help of a lactation spec. and meds, I was unable to produce alot of milk for DD. Then she developed a milk allergy and she had to be put on special formula that cost us like $400 a month. This time DH and I decided that because of the stress that I put myself under because of not being able to breastfeed that we will just bottle feed. DS turned out healthy and fine and never breastfead a day in his life. I can live w/that.
  6. Just DH and I. This is the first, because my mother has always been in the room and w/DD I had all my aunts in the room. With this being the last, we just want it to be us.
  7. Not making it to the hossy and the epi not working AGAIN....
  8. Pregnancy is such a miracle, how could someone be pg and not believe in God truly boggles my mind.

  2. If you know the gender was your mommy intuition right or what do you think you are having? I was wrong!! lol I thought that we were having a boy and we are having a little girl!!
  3. Have you started the nursery? Not even! We live in a basement apartment though so there is not much that we can do.
  4. What was the first item you bought for LO? We bought this crib bumper set that I feel in love with at first sight!! (and it was on an unbelieveable sale! Reg69.99 and got it for 14.99)
  5. Bottle or breast? Brest
  6. Who will be in the delivery room with you (other than doc and nurse..lol)? My hubby, my mom and poissible my MIL.
  7. What's your biggest fear about labor? I am trying not to think about it too much until it is closer time for that. I fear about her coming too early though.

  1. long did you TTC or was your pg a surprise? A little over two years - 4 failed IUI's and a surprise BFP prior to our IVF cycle!!
  2. If you know the gender was your mommy intuition right or what do you think you are having? I am thinking boy, but I really have no idea... we'll find out on Monday!
  3. Have you started the nursery? We cleaned it out and made room in the closet for baby things. My dad is coming to paint and hang shelves at the end of April!
  4. What was the first item you bought for LO? I haven't bought anything but a couple books! We have received bibs, books, sock, and some other miscellaneous items! I'm going shopping after Monday!!!
  5. Bottle or breast? Initially I would like to BF and pump, but we'll see how that goes. I plan to also supplement formula and see how that goes as well!
  6. Who will be in the delivery room with you (other than doc and nurse..lol)? DH and possibly my mom if she makes it here in time (she is 5 hours away).
  7. What's your biggest fear about labor? DH passing out!
  8. What's one thing you've learned since being pg? That your body is no longer your own!!! Love it!

Good idea! I love Friday polls!!

How long did you TTC or was your pg a surprise?

DD was a big surprise, but this one was planned-ish. I went off the pill to let what happens happen in October and we were going to start actively trying in January. We got pregnant immediately!! We are very blessed to not have any trouble in that area . . . although I would have waited another month just so my due date wasn't on DD's birthday!

If you know the gender was your mommy intuition right or what do you think you are having?

I was right! In the beginning I was hoping for a boy, but really felt it was another girl . . . the pregnancies have been incredibly similar. And I'm so incredibly thrilled to be having another girl. I hope my girls are best friends!!!

Have you started the nursery?

I'm leaving it the way it is. It has sky blue walls with white trim and a classic Pooh theme. I will personalize a little bit more for this one, when we move Rylie into her big girl room.

What was the first item you bought for LO?

Diapers! That's ALL I've bought. It's awful! I go to the store and wind up buying stuff for DD. DD has tons of clothes for the baby and they will all be in the same season and everything, so we have very little to buy that way.

Bottle or breast?

Probably both again. I breast fed until 3 months. After 2 months (when I went back to work) I had to supplement with the bottle. As a teacher with a 25 minute lunch, it is impossible to pump during the day!

Who will be in the delivery room with you (other than doc and nurse..lol)?

Just DH!! This time it will be a scheduled C-section so no one can be upset. Last time my mom was a little hurt, but she got over it before delivery time . . . and I wound up with emergency c-section anyway . . .

What's your biggest fear about labor?

Complications with the c-section. Last time I had an allergic reaction. It was awful! Other than that, I've heard plan c-sections are a piece of cake (minus the recovery) so it will be nice to experience that after last time!

What's one thing you've learned since being pg?

I can't think of anything I've really learned. It has reaffirmed the fact that I am tremendously blessed with an amazing husband, wonderful daughter and another darling girl on the way. Life is so good to me.

  1. How long did you TTC or was your pg a surprise?
13 LONG months, but WELL WORTH THE WAIT!!!
  2. If you know the gender was your mommy intuition right or what do you think you are having?
I was TOTALLY right about BOTH of my children!
  3. Have you started the nursery?
Uh-NO...I have to be home to do that and we are NEVER home these days...
  4. What was the first item you bought for LO?
During the "Great Trade-In Event" at BRU, we traded in DD's car seat to buy her a transitional booster seat and got LO a travel system.
  5. Bottle or breast?
This question is really hard for me too, Nicki!!! I tried and tried with DD...but ended up giving up in the hospital because it hurt so bad because she didn't latch on right and the lactation consultant kept yelling at ME... I have several BF'ing "advocate" friends who are planning to be my personal lactation consultants - LOL! - this time around, so I want to give it another try...with it being a boy this time, hopefully it will work out better - I've heard boys latch on better/quicker...We shall see! DD was a Similac baby and she is BRILLIANT (and HEALTHY - PTL!), so I'm not too worried if we have to use formula.
  6. Who will be in the delivery room with you (other than doc and nurse..lol)?
Since it's a scheduled c-section, just the surgical team and DH.
  7. What's your biggest fear about labor?
Nothing really since it'll be scheduled...It's the after-part that scares me...With DD, I was (unknowingly) allergic to the pain meds they gave me and then my incision RIPPED open in the middle of the night after I came home...but that was preventable because I wanted to be SuperWoman...
  8. What's one thing you've learned since being pg?
Relish EVERY moment because it may seem like it takes FOREVER to get the baby here, but while it's in you, it's YOURS and YOURS ONLY. Once it comes out, you have to share it...
Keep a journal of thoughts and feelings...and how you change physically and emotionally...I still go back and read the notes I kept while PG with DD and I feel such a close bond between she and I...I love comparing how much love I had for her then to how much I love her now!

1) for this one, we were TTC for 1 day, lol. Dh and I had been talking about TTC, and I said "so tomorrow I'm Oing. You wanna go for it?" And he said "sure" so here we are!

2)Yup! DH and I both "knew" it was going to be a boy!

3)Not really. We have most of the stuff we need since this is #3 for us. I think the biggest thing is we're going to get DD and DS a bunk bed and bring the toddler bed up to our room. We put 2 mattresses on it and squish it between our bed and the wall to make a co-sleeping bed for the new baby.

4)Nothing for this one yet. Like I said, I don't need much, but I do want to buy something special for him.

5)Breast.

6)Lol, no dr's or nurses here! We're doing a homebirth. So the mw, possibly her assistant, our doula, and DH.

7)Some complication coming up beforehand that requires me to switch to an OB.

8)Every pregnancy truly is different. This li'l guy has thrown me for a loop!

Took 3 HPTs and all were neg (about 1 week after we got home) then finally I said 1 more HPT and if it is neg I am screaming at my Dr. And sure enough it was pos. SO....it was a complete suprise since we were going to wait till Feb 2010 to start trying again! but ya know...your in the moment and stuff just happens
  2. If you know the gender was your mommy intuition right or what do you think you are having? Totally wrong! We were calling the baby HE and found out last Monday it is a SHE!
  3. Have you started the nursery? We are doing Jungle since it is gender neutral and I am not a really frilly girl so i prefer greens and browns.
  4. What was the first item you bought for LO? diapers and a onsie with my alma mater!
  5. Bottle or breast? Breast but am not going to be upset if it doesn't work really well.

1. Two Months, although we weren't really trying, just not preventing.

2. Dr. said at the first ultrasound that the HB was 176 so I was thinking girl after that. Found out at the big ultrasound that I was right.

3. Not really, though DH and I are just starting to convert the office into something we can put baby furniture in.

4. Nothing bought so far, though we were given a carseat, swing and toddler stroller.

5. Breast, though I will be open to augmenting with bottle feeding.

6. Not sure. DH won't be here because he will still be in Army basic training. His sister will be here for at least a couple of weeks but she lives in a different city and is a teacher so she may not be here if the baby goes more than a couple of days past her due date.

7. Having back labor. I can usually handle pain, but I tend to be a bit of a wimp when it comes to my back.

8. That although pregnancy is a miracle it isn't always pretty like some women make it out to be. Sometimes it sucks.

How long did you TTC or was your pg a surprise? We tried for 13 months. It was one the hardest things I have ever gone through.

If you know the gender was your mommy intuition right or what do you think you are having? I think we are having a boy. We'll see if I'm right or not tomorrow.

Have you started the nursery? Not yet. We have to paint the basement and move the office into the basement. The office is going to become the nursery.

What was the first item you bought for LO? Only diapers... My mom on the other hand has bought us a car seat with two bases, the swing, and the stroller already. lol

Bottle or breast? I'm thinking I will BF, but we'll see.

Who will be in the delivery room with you (other than doc and nurse..lol)? DH (of course) and my mom.

What's your biggest fear about labor? How long it is going to take. I really don't want a long labor process.

What's one thing you've learned since being pg? I had no idea that the LO practices breathing or that it can make facial expressions in there. Amazing!
