I am sorry for your suffering. I had major lumbar spine surgery in 2002, and it was not successful. It made everything worse so surgery is not always the answer. There is more risk with another surgery and may result in more pain even though it may appear to be successful on MRIs or CT Scans

I have had to simplify my life too. This has been very painful to give up so much but it is the only way that I have found that allows me to have some peace in my life.

I agree that it is a tremendous loss compared to how I used to live. Beleve it or not, my life is good but I have accepted my limitations and have learned to live with it. Sometimes I do feel sad that I can not do what I used to do but I try to count my blessings. I have learned new interests and acquired new friends who understand and that has helped.

Yoga and meditation helps. If one is able to find a spiritual life, they are fortunate.
