just wondering if anyone else has experienced this

I'm doing some studying for graduate school so of course I'm doing a lot of writing. About a week ago I started experiencing pain in or around my left shoulder blade (I write with my left hand), but I figured I'd just finish up what I was doing and give it a rest. But as luck would have it, I felt this weird pain, like a pop or a rip or something, and almost a burning sensation in that area of my back right before I finished up. The pain doesn't last long, but since then, if I work more than 30 minutes at my desk I start feeling that pain again and the rip or whatever happens very soon after. I'll be seeing the doctor sometime this week, but I'm just wondering who else might have gone through something like this and what it could have possibly happened.
