What Do You Need to Do?

The message board you're used to will be closing in the coming weeks. While many of your boards will be making the move to our new home, your posts will not. Want to keep a discussion going? Chronic Neck Pain-Am I missing something?

I have had a stiff neck with pain for nearly a year, 24/7. It is mainly at the base of my skull sometimes into the back of my head.I have had an MRI, CT Scan, and blood work all come back normal. I have been on Celebrex, 800mg IBp, had trigger pt. inj's, facet inj's, and PT. Not much relief. Am I missing something? I have seen a spine specialist, who is now suggesting I get Botox shots in my neck for Cervical Dystonia- which I am very apprehensive about and my regular physician who has not been much help. I am now considering acupuncture!

Deep tissue massage is one of the most effective therapies to relieve neck and shoulder pain. You can try the ShoulderFlex deep kneading massager. It really goes deep into the triggered areas to relieve the pain. You can read reviews of Shoulder Flex on Amazon.com since other people's experience can be helpful for you to determine if it is worth to try. If you prefer a gentle massage, just put an extra towel on the machine and adjust the intensity to the low setting. Good luck!

Thanks, I can't afford the time and distance to get a decent massage, as well as the cost, but am interested in this ShoulderFlex. Appreciate the advice.

yes I have the same exact thing it will be 11 years in feb from a head on mva.I have been getting botox inj for 7 years and would never go w/o them they help you are in a soft neck brace for 3 weeks and need to take it easy. I still get the facet injections too it doesnt eliminate pain but helps. I still get migraines and neck and upper back pain I get 300 units from my thoracic up to the back of the neck.Accupuncture doesnt help me but I do get massages for trigger point every week but pay for it myself over this journey the combo of all 3 give me a more tolerable life. good luck
