About once a month or less I will have this sudden onset of pain where the carotid artery runs. It is so very tender to the touch and painful to turn my head a certain way, laugh too hard and swallow. I did a bit of research and found Carotidynia, but I am not sure if this is what it is or if it is just allergies. Does anyone know anything of this and if so, is it something I need to see a Dr for right away? I've noticed some people say they can only fight the pain with OTC pain meds. It does usually go away within a day, but this time it's been here for 3 days and is also affected my ear.. my ear seems to be popping a bit and feels stopped up..slight pain in the jawline also. Thanks all
