Hello.

Here is a link to WebMD's information regarding tailbone injuries: http://www.webmd.com/fitness-exercise/tailbone-coccyx-injury

You may want to consider going to a hospital emergency room for treatment. They can not deny you treatment and you can work out a payment plan with them.

Praying you can get the treatment and relief you need soon.
Blessings, -Dave

hi angel191016 - welcome to the support group -

couple of things you can do is: if you go to a church you can ask the pastor for assistance and/or they can let you know where to go - sometimes the church can have special collections to help you with the bills - don't be afraid to ask - they are there to help us -

you can also call around to some physician offices and explain your situation - there are some doc's that will set up certain fees to help - and Red Cross / Salvation Army etc -

also you can find out if there is a teaching hospital around -

there are a lot of places around - just have to call and find out -

You really need to have either an MRI and/or CT Scan with and without contrast - this way you will know what is wrong and the best treatment plan -

hope you can find treatments as soon as possible - please let us know what is going on - take care - Joy~~

Hi Angel,
I fell on my butt about a year ago. Prior to that I had had many falls. First to the pelvis which was broken, then repeated falls after that. I also fell on an icy step and onto the corner of a brick step same as you. I didn't begin to hurt there specifically for a few months. I treated with an ortho for about 8 months. I told him over and over that I felt like there was a pipe in my anus. He said he had never heard that expression and he continued to or tests. He said over and over he needed to know what exactly my problem was before he could do surgery to fix it. He never had a true dx, but he was ready to do a spinal fusion. I refused to have it and he said otyher than that he couldn't do anything for me. I then decided I could go to neurologist. I didn't think I coluld see a neurosurgeon so fast. He didn't do anything except medicate me. Then the neurologist gave me orders to see a neurosurgeon. The neurosurgeon said that if I had had the fusion, it would have been the worse mistake of my life. I have been ever so thankful that was never done. I then continued to treat with the neurologist for the medication I REALLY needed. I then saw a Pain Mgmt specialist for a few months. Now, she ran several tests, and told me my tzilbone was moving really badly. She orderded treatments to an unusual specialist. She went up enternally several times and the treatment seemed to help a great deal. The distance was so far and I had to have a driver since I was unable to sit that long (spept in the back of the car lying down.

The long and short of my problems is: I researched for an ortho who had much many sucessful experiences with tailbone problems. He required injections guided into the tailbone with the flouroscope. I had two and I knew it was the end of the injections for me. I went back to the Doc with my husband make a decision about treatment plans. I opted for surgery. It is a long healing process and not easy to endure, but something had to be done. I am at 4 weeks post surgery now. I still hurt, but I can see a light at the end of the tunnel.

I trust you will be able to glean something from post. My discs are causing problems too, but one of the problems and I think the thing that is causing the most pain has been removed. If you decide to have surgery exhaust every effort first.
