    Exciting News for WebMD Members!

We've been busy behind the scenes building new message boards for you. You'll have new and easier ways to find messages, connect with others, and share your stories.

And, this will all be available on your smartphone or other mobile device!

What Do You Need to Do?

The message board you're used to will be closing in the coming weeks. While many of your boards will be making the move to our new home, your posts will not. Want to keep a discussion going? Save posts you want to continue (this includes your member profile story), so that you can re-post them in the new message boards.

Keep an eye here and on your email inbox, we'll be back in touch soon to give you all the information you need!

    Getting a Massage
    Chris_WebMD_Staff posted:
By the end of the week, after sitting at the computer all week, my back and shoulders hurt and I can feel the muscles tensing. I try to go for a massage monthly if I can afford it. I called today. The woman offers me Friday evening at 6:40pm. I say I'll take it. Then she says, OK that's with David at 6:40pm this Friday. I suddenly say, on wait that time won't work for me. I had no idea but apparently I have a hang up with men giving me massages. I had no idea! I told her politely that I'll wait the week and go with Claudia next Saturday instead.

How do you feel about the opposite sex or same sex giving you massages?

Hi Chrissy - well IF I COULD get a message I think it would depend on the person and the credentials - but more than likely would probably go with a female -

my back is so tender that no one can touch it! even the spine specialist or pain doc is in shock when they do touch it and I scream out in pain - this is one reason I can't go for any type of physical therapy and/or chiropractor care - no matter what they do I am in tears and have to stop the treatments -

    take care - Joy

Hi BJ! yep I totally understand that you cannot get one, and sometimes when I am done with mine it actually causes more pain before it gets better. I don't have the kind of back pain as you do, and I so sorry nothing physical helps you with yours. It's so debilitating. My daughter had two back surgeries, one at 19 years old and the other at 21. The second one helped so much.

She can now do physical therapy and massages.
But with both agreed after I told her this same story about my massage, we need females. I have littler or no hang ups, so this kinda surprised me.
