Spinal Fusion Complications

Update on my daughter and her surgery of 5/22. 13 hours in surgery with complications. She is in MICUl. Social Security should not deny her anymore. She is still vomiting and on Dilaudid, flat on her back. When they changed her dressings and turned her, she had a blinding headache and began vomiting again. Her heart rate decreases frequently and then returns to normal. Her surgery involved complications of holes in the dura, which had to be repaired before the rest of the surgery could be completed. She has rods and screws. I am so worried about her. After reading some comments, I am really worried. We understood that her quality of life would change. Today, she called me and asked for help and that her friends contact her.
She needs lots of prayer. She is scared, because of complications of spinal fluid leakage. She is flat on her back.

Any suggestions or locations where I can get more information?

Quantity = omline

Quantity = Barnes and Nobles or Amozon.com

I say quantity because online trypically you get the squeaky wheels and failures over and over.

A good book will give a nice serial represenation of knowledge with foot notes and references that are fillied with pertinent ifo.

3 best books for me:
Pain the Science of Suffuring Fundational work on pain research. A real epiphany for me. Authored by Dr. Patrick Wall and Melslef. Two pioneers in the modern pain treatment and understanding,

The Art of Healing back pain naturally. By Dr. Art Browsntien. Doc browstien is an orthopedic surgeon who broke his back and ended up in the waiting room, sitting in pain and gettng no answers. He decided to find his own solutions and share them

A good book on chronicaling pain and activity is also useful

She will have to read these when she's ready. You can read them for info and I applaud you if you do.

God bless your for caring.

How's she doing?

I would also highly recommend a pain mangament psycologist to help her understand her life and it's trials ahead. I ink a good Pain psycologst or phyciatrist would be the best help for her.

She needs to understand what role she must take and what the pain will do to her brain. Please trust me on this. See if you can get her some time with one onf these doctors, it may make all the difference in the world!!!!

Tim
