I have a lot of things wrong with my back and now there seems to be something new going on. Let me tell you first of all...I have 4 herniated discs in my cervical spine, 5 in my lumbar area, spinal stinosis in two areas of my back, straight neck syndrome, my spinal cord splits like a snake tongue at the bottom, 2 fused vert. in my neck, 1 cracked vert.in the lumbar area, one of the lumbar vert. is anterior, the others are posterior, a lypoma in the thorasic area of 5 mm, and needless to say degenerative disc disease. I am on vicodine and flexarol to relieve some of the pain. The issue is now I am having an issue with my foot. Occasionally it spasms (painfully) in shin and foot turning it inwards and my big toe points straight up. Any suggestions on why or what it is?

Hello and welcome. I am sorry to read of all your problems but fully understand.

Please read through the Tip at the top of this WebMD Back Pain Community that lists the steps for diagnosing and treating back pain. We are a group of lay people and it is against the rules (and impossible) to provide any type of diagnosis or medical advice. You will need to have your doctor evaluate and treat these new symptoms.

Please update us after you have seen your doctor.

I pray you can get the relief you need soon.

hi and welcome to the support group -

As Dave stated it's impossible for us to diagnose, or for that matter no one can diagnose over the internet. proper evaluation must be done by the right kind of physician.

5it's best that you see either a Orthopedic Spine Specialist or Neurosurgeon Spine Specialist (you didn't say what type of doctor you have seen). has it been more than a year since you've had an MRI/CT Scan done? A new one may be in order so that they can see what, if any, changes may have developed. getting a 2nd or 3rd opinion on your spine issues should give you more insight on what is going on.

I couldn't tell, but have you had any surgery done? if you have please let us know what was done etc.

the new symptoms you are having could be related to your spine problems and it's beneficial that you see the spine specialist for a full examination, diagnosis and treatment options.

please let us know what you find out - take care - Joy
