Thoracic Rhizotomy

So I am seeing my back doctor on Wednesday and we are going to discuss me having a thoracic rhizotomy done. I only know of one other person that has had this (and it was lumbar, not thoracic) and it worked well for him. However, I've read a few stories online from people that it has NOT worked for. I'm a little nervous about discussing this with my doctor. Has anyone had this procedure done, and did it work for you?

Hello and welcome.

The results of any treatment offer unique results for each patient. There are successes and failures in any method of pain management.

While I do not have personal experience with this procedure, I have been a member of WebMD for 10 years and have seen varied results for many treatments, including a rhizotomy.

I think discussing this with your doctor would be a good idea. He/she would know what treatment has worked for you, your medical history and if you are a candidate.

Others will come along that have had this procedure and share their experiences, I'm sure.

I hope you can get answers and relief soon.
