Si-Bone /Fuse Implant System
sacroiliac posted:
I am scheduled for an iFuse implant next month (November 2012). I am in very much pain even though I have had approx. 10 injections in my sacroiliac. These injections last from two to 10 days. I'm 82 years of age. I would like your comments on this subject. I also have a stimulator implant in the lift side of my back to ease the pain for scistica relief. Would like your thoughts on me having the Ifuse inplants. Sacroiliac

Hi Sacroiliac - welcome to the support group -

Unfortunately we cannot tell you yes or no as far as having the surgery done. As for our members I don't believe any have had this type of implant done.

This is something you should discuss fully with your surgeon and your primary care physicians. It would also be wise to get a couple of opinions from both Orthopedic Spine Specialist and Neurosurgeon Spine Specialist so that you know exactly what is in store. You are the only one that can make the choice of whether to have the surgery or not.

I do wish you the best~~
Take care~~

Sacroiliac - I currently have no information for you however......I am currently researching the possibility of having this surgery. I would greatly appreciate you letting me know how you do. If you would like to communicate outside this forum, you can find me at . I dont know ifyour a facebook user but if so I can also be found there under my name. I currently live in Pittsburgh and am "interviewing" doctors in Pittsburgh and at the Cleveland Clinic. Would love to hear from you. ~kim

I would be greatly interested in hearing how this procedure worked for you. I'm interested in having it done too but just in the beginning stages of researching it. Not much info on it's success rate. My doctor's office does not do it so I will need to find a place locally that does. I get SI joint steroid injections a few times a year and they work for a short time (1 week - 1 month) and my doctor tried Radio Frequency Ablation but it didn't do anything.

DDD, 2 discectomies L3-L4, L4-L5, ADR L4-L5, spinal stimulator implant, facet and SI joint injections, too many pain meds.
trixiesue replied to painloopy's response:
I am 3 days post-op with SI joint fusion. I had the "minimally invasive" version by SI-Bone. So far, so good. I'm happy to keep anyone updated who may be interested. Let me know here, and I can either post updates here or will give you my email address!

Feeling hopeful!
