Feels like a losing battle

Hi. I'm not sure if I'm in the right area but I could use some help. I've been in pain about 6 months now. My neck, middle and lower back hurt so much I feel like giving up. I've been in pain management for a couple months now with no relief. I've had an MRI of my neck and middle back that came back as Quote "unremarkable". It showed some arthritis and leaking disc. Can't think of the name for it. The Dr said it shouldn't be causing pain. Well he's not in my body!! I had Radio Frequency Ablation on the left side T6, 7 and 8 about a week and a half ago. Not working. It's hard for me to describe the pain. It feels like my spine is on fire and being ripped out of my back! I also have a bubbling, popping and cracking feeling. I can feel my my bones grind. I can't take it anymore! I am so tired of being in pain and crying. The Dr gave me Neurontin 300mg 3x a day and Vicodin 5-500 2x a day or as needed. It doesn't work. And he only gives me 20 pain pills that's supposed to last me 2 weeks. I want the pain gone and not have to take pills! I don't understand why he can't figure out whats wrong. Sorry I'm rambling. I have no one else to listen. My family is tired of me,my kids are mad because I can't get them anything for Christmas and my husband is afraid to touch me. I'm just so stressed and depressed. I want it to end

Hello and welcome.

I am sorry to read of your pain and fully understand.

What type of doctor are your seeing? It is always best to see a spinal orthopedic surgeon or spinal neurosurgeon for an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan. Can you get another opinion? I think that would be worth your efforts. To me it looks like anything that can be done to help you is being done. A fresh set of eyes from a different specialist and maybe some further diagnostic testing would give more answers.

I know how frustrating and difficult this is for you. Many times people (including family and friends) just do not understand what it is like to live with chronic pain.

Keep doing your research. Keep moving as much as possible. Keep a positive attitude.

Come here anytime to ask questions or just to ramble and vet. We know what your are going through.

I pray you can get answers and more relief soon.
