Hi Kristen - not sure if you have posted before, if not, welcome to the support group and if you have, welcome back!
glad that you are getting results and hopefully a good treatment plan. Unfortunately, we no longer have professional physicians on this site for extended questions/treatments like what you are asking. I'm sorry about this so it would be in your best interest to ask for copies of all tests that have been done - the films and the written reports plus all doctor notes etc. this way you will have your own "library" of your back history.
for spine issues its best to see either a Orthopedic Spine Specialist or Neurosurgeon Spine Specialist as they are the only ones that can read film results (MRI/CT Scan/X-ray's etc) and can properly make a diagnosis.
The best type of pain management (my opinion) is a PHYSIATRIST Pain Specialist -
http://www.spineuniverse.com/treatments/what-physiatristthey treat pains from the pain up and not from the symptoms (as most pain clinics do).
You can do a search in your area to see if there any Pain Clinics that are PHYSIATRIST and if you don't need a referral then make the appointment yourself. You will need to have copies of all your films/written reports on your first visit. I have been seeing my PHYSIATRIST Pain doc now since 11/08 and they have really treated me great and know how to treat my pains.
In the meantime, call the doc's office and ask the nurse what the diagnosis/terminology is and let us know. we can research some good sites for you to review etc.
Let us know as soon as you call and get the diagnosis~~
