I am not sure where I should be posting this, But I need help, and it will be appreciated. I will explain everything in great detail, and hopefully someone can help me.

When I was younger, I got married and began helping my husband build his career, He is in construction. I helped dig holes with shovels and alot of other very heavy work. His career was a strenuous one and eventually I opened my own business where i was there 7 days a week 14 hour days on my feet.

Over the course of the years I was diagnosed with sciatica and suffered severe pain, a doctor then performed his first surgery which didn't help. I now have a pinched nerve and live in pain. However, we know what that is and how it got there, and there's not to much that can be done. ( I have now had 6 surgery's and still live in pain).

More recently however ( to add to my already existing pain) I developed something else. I have been to many doctors and had many theories and none of them have panned out, so I am hoping by sharing my story, someone can help me.

I have been experiencing lower right pain, severe pain. my stomach actually starts to spasm, so much that if you look at my stomach you can see it jumping. The pain is so severe I scream in pain for hours and it takes forever for me to be able to get out of pain. I have tried pain management and it doesn't help at all. usually it comes on after I have a bowel movement of any kind, symptoms show about 5 minutes afterwards. Again I have seen many doctors and specialists, I have been to the emergency room numerous times and i can't seem to get anywhere, with all the tests, scans, blood work and nothing can be decided. I don't know where to go or what to do, if anyone has gone through the same thing, I beg you..for my health and sanity please try and share with me what has been discovered. I don't know how else to describe it other then severe pain in my lower right abdomen with spams visible to the eye, usually (almost always after bowel movement).

I need to get this fixed, i have 2 wonderful kids, a husband and I run a business, a business I can barley get to anymore, I have almost never been there for the passed 3 years. I have friends who care about me, and they have tried everything to help as well as my family, So now I turn to you. Please Help!

Hi and welcome to the board - sorry to read about your health issues - if you press on my picture (teddybear) it will tell you a little more about me.

I can say I am still being worked up for the same stomach problems you are having. Mine started only about 4 months ago - I also have had every test under the sun except for the Gastric Emptying Study test which is scheduled for Fri. the 22nd.

I get horrific pain and charlie horses immediately after bms. I also do not have much of a colon left only about 10". At the present time one Dr said it was Costochondritis - Tietze Syndrome. My PCP says she believes I have Intercostal Muscle disorder which seems to be also affecting my small intestines. I also have neuromuscular weakness of the lungs which could be contributing to my situation.

After having the Gastric Emptying study I will be going to PM for injections into the nerves and muscles throughout my right rib.

That is about all I can add - just wanted you to know I do feel the pain you are in - I am not any closer to an answer either. Deb
An_250470 replied to Debsbears's response:

To be honest, I am really sorry that anyone has to feel this pain, and in the same sense I am also a little glad that it's not just me, because if someone can figure it out for one of us, then they can figure it out for the other one of us.

To further add to my explanation as a better way to explain it. The pain actually starts up with urination as well, and it feels like someone is stabbing me (to describe the pain). The pain also feels like it is coming from my appendix area, (to better describe the location) and doctors have checked my appendix as well, and everything is fine there. I can't figure this out. Doctors have me on pain medication for my sciatica and this pain, but to be honest, it takes alot just to stop screaming, I don't want to keep taking this stuff, I need to figure out what it is to help me get out of all this pain,.

Thank You again Debsbear.
Debsbears replied to An_250470's response:
That is actually where mine started - the only difference I had my appendix removed in 1995.

I have hypo-motility issues of the intestines - the reason for the removal of my colon - no medicine under the sun could help me go, no amount of fiber nothing worked - that was three yrs ago. Now I go 5 to 8 times a day.

Did did endoscopy, colonoscopy, HIDA scan, double contrast ct scans, ultrasounds and xrays the only they found on me is that where the connection of my small intestines to the remaining colon - "stool" gets stuck. I found that unbelievable because of the amount I go daily. So I was told to drink a large amt of Miralax for 4 days have more xrays and I'd be fine.

Well I am not fine the pain is still at the connection site and throughout my intestines. The charlie horses are the pits. It takes my breath away every time I get them.

Have they checked to see if you might have an autonomic dysfunction. Where the nerves in the involuntary muscles don't work right?
iscreamforhealth replied to Debsbears's response:
I have not been tested, I have been taking notes though. Things to bring up to my Doctor. Have they ruled anything out yet. I am still trying to figure out where the pain is coming from exactly, is it my uterus , bladder or what. Maybe we can talk sometime? IE: I PM or email my number, Girl to Girl. Just a thought. You seem to have the same exact symptoms as me, and going through the same thing.
iscreamforhealth replied to iscreamforhealth's response:
and we share the same name (Deb) which is interesting.
Debsbears replied to iscreamforhealth's response:
Hi Deb, I will send you an email when I get back from my PT appt. Deb
iscreamforhealth replied to Debsbears's response:
Sounds Great, thank you
trs1960 replied to iscreamforhealth's response:
I have no good info, but two questions: do you have thoracic damage? The reason I ask is that I do and have learned that your internal organs are fed from the nerves in the thoracic area. Sometimes I get a stabbing chest pain that we can't explain, but it will take me out until it passes. The first time it happened I thought I was having a heart attack!

Second: one of the most common side effects of traumatic or severe injury is bleeding ulcers. The body reacts chemically and acids pool in the stomach.

Sounds like you've had lots of professional help that would already picked up on this, but I've been watching your thread since you posted it and I am puzzled and concerned for you.

Best wishes and God bless you.

Debsbears replied to trs1960's response:
Hi Tim I do, if you call scolisis from T2-T12. It is now "S" shaped. And I do have pinched nerves running along my spine as well. Perhaps you are onto something. For me anyway.
trs1960 replied to Debsbears's response: I said I'm really guessing, but if you look at the neurological system, the nerves branching out of the thoracic joints feed your internal organs. That being said who knows what problems nerve impingement in this area would cause? I have damage in the thoracic region and my doctor and I have discussed such issues, but without any specific problems I didn't get any specific answers.

Debsbears replied to trs1960's response:
Tim I am going to see the pain Dr next Tues. I will bring this up and she what she says. I know I will get injections to start out with for the pain. Consult first then we schedule the injections.
trs1960 replied to Debsbears's response:
Good luck
mamaof8 responded:
I too have thoracic problems and can attest to the pain this can and does cause. I use to get the stabbing pains in my chest and though it was due to a birth defect in my heart, now I know more an am leaning to it being from my back. I now have that knife or sword feeling stabbing me all the time. I know this may sound silly but when my pain is so out of control I say to myself or outloud through gritted teeth: I am grateful to be pain free! I have not been pain free however, it has helped m to manage the pain. Can't hurt to try. I have also used nutrition to help with symptoms that seem to be side effects. I am willing to help others learn more about that side of things as I feel it has been a blessing and I should share. Just let me know if you want info on that aspect.
trs1960 replied to mamaof8's response:
Most of us have dropped to our knees gritting our teeth begging God for help, so I don't think it sounds silly at all. I know the feeling of a sword stabbing through your chest or spine with each breath!

Good luck and God bless
