    Exciting News for WebMD Members!

And, this will all be available on your smartphone or other mobile device!

What Do You Need to Do?

The message board you're used to will be closing in the coming weeks. While many of your boards will be making the move to our new home, your posts will not. Want to keep a discussion going? I am new to this but I'm wondering has anyone had SI joint fused. I have had right side done and a distectomey on the L5 disc. I will be having SI fusion on left side soon and fusing disc L4 and 5 together. How has anyone else done with these surgeries.

Hi Linbainwill45 - welcome to the support group -

In the years I have been a member (2006) I have not seen any member that has had all these types of surgeries done.

I had Anterior Lumbar Fusion L5-S1 done in 2008 and have hardware in place but never had SI Joint Fusion done.

Have you gone to have more opinions done? this would help you to make sure you are getting all the right answers and that the procedures are needed.

I have been in so much pain I have just let them do whatever they suggest to relieve the pain. On the 30th they will schedule left SI. I think they take my pain meds away right before return time and give mr some new weird stuff I've never heard of. Then I'm iin so much pain when I get back I'm just ready for relief. One SI surgery cost BCBS 24,000$. Thanks for the reply. God bless you.
