Infuse bone graft dr

Hi, my name is Nick Schultz. I was diagnosed with degenerative disk disease in January 2003. I ended up having a spinal fusion in July 2003. Over the past 10 years I've been simply "settling" for dealing with drs and pain management clinics that just kind of listen to me talk and not really understand what I've been dealing with for the past 10 years. I truly want to find a doctor who will listen and truly understand what I'm saying to them and actually have a reasonable and full answer to my questions. I'm going to paste the description I wrote to another website asking for help only to find out that I needed to pay $35 to get a "answer".

Thank you anybody who has any insight and any help/comments to share.

"How do I find a dr in my area that is familiar with the negative side effects of the infuse bone graft? I'd really like to talk to one who actually understands my questions and concerns vs just talking to a regular dr who just kind of understands where I'm coming from but does not fully understand the magnitude of my concers/problems. I had the infuse bone graft used on my lower lumbar area in 2003 and ever since things have not been the same. I have several negative side effects. Ranging from chronic daily pain to retro grade ejaculation. I live in southeastern Wisconsin bewteen milwaukee and Madison but I'm ready and willing to do some driving if it means I will actually get to speak with a qualified doctor who u deer stands my frustrations that stem from dealing with other health professionals that don't understand where I'm coming from."

Thank you to anyone who at the very minimum who reads this.

Best Regards, Nick Schultz

What type of Dr(s) have you seen? What types of test have you recently had done? Generally an Orthopedic Spine Specialist slash surgeon is the only type or field of Dr I've found that can properly read and diagnose spine issues. If you have insurance, have you checked to see what and which Dr(s) are listed as a participating provider? I drive from mid-west WI to Oconomowoc/Summit to see my Dr(s), so I can relate to the driving aspect for what I think is reasonable and caring care.

Hi Nick - Since you asking "How do I find a doctor" I can tell you that just not one a specific Dr.

I also live in the middle area between Madison and Milwaukee - 1hr either way.

I see Drs. in the following systems: Aurora, Wheaton Franciscan, Froedtert and ProHealth Care.

So depending on which system you can go to or choose to go to, in the search bar type in let's say ProHealth get to their site then find a doctor, look for the type of specialist and miles, they will give you a list, highlight the one that interests you and read about the person. You can also type that Drs. name in the search bar I use Bing, it will give you more info about the Dr.

When I needed a new Neurosurgeon for my neck - I typed in Neurosurgeon in the search bar and looked for one in Milwaukee - a few came up but after reading their credentials I choose the one that best fit my needs and I am glad I did - he saved my life with a 7 vertebrae cervical fusion.

That is the best I can do - given the rules here on this site - I do hope it helps. Deb.

Hey Nick, I signed up for this site looking for answers,Dr's,anything or anyone who might know more about infuse and the intolerable pain that began after my plif L4,L5,&S1 fusion in 2003 using "infuse". I've had a discectomy in 07' and nerve stimulator in 08'. With no relief. I have the same issues finding a Dr. that knows about infuse side effects. Last week I saw a Neuro that is in love with the product and defends it with passion. I don't know why I am in such pain, hoping we find others in our situation who have found answers. Thank God for Dr. Carragee shedding some light in the Spine Journal 2011. I'm currently home in bed while my family is on vacation in my hometown. I'm really tired of this type life, and pray for answers soon, for you as well. Stay connected. Tim
