    Exciting News for WebMD Members!

We've been busy behind the scenes building new message boards for you. You'll have new and easier ways to find messages, connect with others, and share your stories.

And, this will all be available on your smartphone or other mobile device!

What Do You Need to Do?

The message board you're used to will be closing in the coming weeks. While many of your boards will be making the move to our new home, your posts will not. Want to keep a discussion going? Save posts you want to continue (this includes your member profile story), so that you can re-post them in the new message boards.

Keep an eye here and on your email inbox, we'll be back in touch soon to give you all the information you need!

    Yours in health,

    Hi Dave -

    Yes I'm still around!! LOL

My computer has been acting up whereas most times I cannot get it to start up - it finally started today!!! Hurray!!!

My back has been hurting worst - I have 2nd opinion on the 17th and am excited to get that done with.

Oh Dave, we have had bad problems with dad (Hubby's dad). His dementia has gotten worst and he has been displaying sundowners almost every nite around dinner time. Last thursday he lunged and hit hubby's niece and since hubby is out of state working his sister came over and took dad toher place - she is getting it set up so he goes into assisted living and I really think this will be the last stage as he is getting worst even at her place.

anyway I'm still here - thanks for asking - hope you and your family are doing well~~take care~~

    Glad to see you, Joy.

I moved my dad to a VA nursing home in early May. The Assisted Living Facility had to give him (and me, of course) notice because he could not control his bathroom functions. That was beyond their licensing. So, I had him tested and he scored at the bottom end of needing skilled nursing.

The VA nursing home is taking excellent care of my dad. He has become aggresive there and actually pushed another man down. They say this is part of the disease as you are also learning the hard way. They gave my dad his own room and now all is OK. Only problem is it is a solid hour's drive each way but we are still visiting him a few times a month.

My wife is waiting for the SSA to approve her SSD. She applied in May through her attorney. I don't think there will be any problem. Her pain management specialist has clearly documented her disability and restrictions and stated she can never work in retail again and could only work part-time in a sedentary position with lots of restrictions. Her pm is having her consider an SCS. She does not think it would be worth the effort as that still would not get her back to work. We do things around the house very carefully and it takes us forever, but it gets done.

Hope you see more posts again from you soon.

Have a blessed and salubrious Sunday, Joy and everyone!
