For some time I've had some major symptoms that seem to be getting worse. I'm 24 years old, I've experienced minor audio and visual hallucinations, hypersensitivity, sweating uncontrollably, major anxiety, I've tested my heart beat and counted 147 beats per minute on both my neck and wrist using a "check your own pulse" guide on this website. Sort of concerned, I've had these symptoms for a long time, but I've also been an alcoholic since I was about 18.. I'm sure the ER doesn't want to deal w/ another paranoid drunk.. not sure whether or not I should go to the ER. I also work very hard and sometimes feel very dizzy/short of breath at random, my gums also bleed very often and I usually wake up most mornings spitting out a pretty substantial amount of blood. I know this all sounds pretty bad/disgusting, but I do try to take care of myself as much as possible.. just not able to kick my drinking habit.

hi and welcome -

Unfortunately you have posted on the back pain community board -

But, I do know a little about alcoholic issues as I was previously married to an alcoholic -

What you need to do is see your primary care physician ASAP - spitting up blood is not a good sign as this means you are having problems with your stomach and possibly other parts of your body -

AA is a great support group that helps a lot of people to stop drinking - you must want to do this on your own accord - making the first step is in your hands.

please see your primary doc ASAP - the longer you wait the worse your problems will be - and the first step to admitting you have a problem is one step closer to stop drinking -

Your doc can give you all the necessary information for AA - and you can also look them up on the internet and/or look in the phone book.

here is the website for WEBMD for alcoholics support group -

http://exchanges.webmd.com/substance-abuse-exchange

I hope this helps - but you really do need professional help - see your primary care doc ASAP -

Take care - Joy
