My wife had gastric bypass less than three weeks ago. She feels miserable. She wants to reverse the procedure. Can this be done?

Reversal can certainly be done, but it's a much harder procedure and takes more time to heal.

I felt the same way. My surgery was on June 23 and for the next month, or month and a half, I was completely miserable. I constantly threw up, the incision in my side was so painful, I cried over and over and basically wondered what had I done to myself. I even ended up back in the hospital because I got dehydrated.

But don't give up! I promise that you won't feel that way for ever (even though it feels like it right now.) My best advice is to always have your pain pill, your nausea pill and a bag with you in case of emergency. Soon, your good days will start to outweigh the bad ones, and you'll be fitting into your clothes in ways you never thought possible. And it's going to be worth it! I've already lost 60 pounds and I can't begin to describe the joy I feel. Yes, I still take my nausea pill most every day, but it's easing up all the time.

My husband encouraged me to write a blog about my experiences (www.citizen-times.com/weightlossjourney ) and it's interesting to go back to my early entries and see how things have changed. Please check it out with your wife; it sounds like our experiences have been very similar. I'm very open about the surgery, so if there's anything you'd like to ask, please feel free to do so. I don't mind answering any questions.
