Recent Bariatric Surgery

I had a gastric bypass July 27th. I am a diabetic and my glucose readings were running higher than I wanted them to, and the bypass was a was to create a fresh start for myself. Are there any other diabetics who had the surgery toward changing that? I'd like to talk to you.

I noticed that there are long-termers which reinforces my hope that this path I've chosen can make a difference for me for the rest of my life.

I am a year past surgery and am proud to report that I have lost 102 lbs. I have slowed down and hit a plateau, but with more work, I'll lose even more weight as I work it down another 60 lbs to my ideal weight, 140 lbs. It's been a difficult road at times. Sometimes I cry when I can't eat. Two or three bites and I can't eat anymore of a dish I've spent a lot of time creating for my family..... But then there are those times when I fit into a lower size and I get that feeling of satisfaction that so far, it's all been worth it.
