Gastric Bypass and Mucus

Hello all I am new to the community. I had the Roux-N-Y gastric bypass surgery nearly 6 years ago. A little over a year ago I had to have some repair work done because one of the staples worked its way out and I sprung a very tiny leak, nothing life threatening. Here's what I have been dealing with sense, a TON of mucus. It has gotten so bad that every morning the first thing I eat I have to go within minutes and be bulimic and throw it out and when I do I see that the food coming out is accompanied by a literal bowl full of mucus that seems to have been piling up in there all night. After that I can then eat, so it would seem the pouch was just gunked up by mucus. It was bad enough but now it would seem the mucus production has ramped up and I now have to do this with nearly every meal I eat otherwise nothing will go through! And to top it all off, the military sent my wife and I to a very remote area of Germany now and the closest person who knows anything about gastric bypass is nearly 500 miles away. All the docs here do is give me mucinex which I also have to throw back out most of the time and it hasn't helped me much at all. Any thoughts out there would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

It sounds like what you're experiencing is "frothing", a very extreme case of it. About 3 months after my weight loss surgery I had to froth after each meal. It gradually got better after a few months. I had my surgery 7 years ago and will still froth every now and then when I eat something that irritates my pouch. I found a PDF online that has WLS information and links to some online support groups. Obesityhelp.com is a good site for information. This is the link to the PDF:

I hope you find something to help since you don't have a WLS doctor nearby. Good Luck.
